HVO100 (hydrotreated vegetable oil) is a renewable diesel produced from waste and residues, such as used cooking oil and animal fats. The fuel reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90 % in a life-cycle perspective compared with fossil diesel, depending on the feedstock.
Benefits of HVO100
Drop-in fuel: Can be used in existing diesel engines without modifications, and can be blended freely with fossil diesel. Check your engine manufacturer’s approval.
Documented emission cuts: Up to 90 % lower CO2 emissions – a simple measure for shipowners and companies facing environmental requirements in tenders and climate accounting.
Cleaner combustion: Lower emissions of particulates and NOx, and a high cetane number for easier cold starts and smoother running.
Good storage stability: FAME-free and compliant with EN 15940 – well suited for vessels, backup power and machinery standing idle for long periods.
Excellent cold-flow properties – available for Norwegian winter conditions.
Who is it for?
HVO100 is a good fit for fishing vessels, live fish carriers and service vessels that want to cut emissions without engine investments – and for construction, agriculture and transport with the same needs.
